Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit Review December 28, 2008

Whenever my sister’s high school friends ask me which Mario Badescu products they should use to cure acne, I always give them a funny look. “Cure?” I say. Then I let out a deep sigh. When are people going to get it? There is NO CURE for acne. Nada, zip, zero.

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t being hard on them. I mean who could blame them. They’re on the Internet at least 10 hours a day, searching on google for “Cure Acne”. Then they get bombarded with Ads for “Cure Acne and Lose 10lbs.” or “Rub Goo Goo Berry and Kill Acne Forever”. It’s no wonder people become so misinformed.

What everyone should be looking for are products that are effective in Treating and Preventing Acne. 

So I sat them down and gave them a lecture and then I took them out to Starbucks. Yes I’m really cool with my sisters friends. Then I recommended to them that they should use Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit.  The kit cost $46 bucks, which is the same price if you bought each of the products individually. I think it should be discounted, but oh well who am I? At least it comes in a pretty box.

The reason why I recommended these products is because each of our face compositions are different as you know already. I could even tell just by looking at her friend’s faces. This kit is perfect because it is suitable for all skin types and the combination of using these ingredients are very effective in preventing and treating acne.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum Review December 23, 2008

Another fabulous skin care product by Mario Badescu. Can anything ever stop them? Is there anything they can’t do in that wonderful little skin care beauty lab of theirs? Okay, okay I’ll stop being so stupid.

Skin care products make me happy. Very happy. What can I say?

Anyways I read about Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum awhile back in a magazine and by the time it hit the store shelves it became a total big hit. The Nordstrom near my place told me they weren’t going to get it for awhile and I hate having stuff shipped to my place. Luckily my friend was in New York and was coming to Florida in a few days. Long story short my friend traded me a ride from the airport for a bottle of this lovely Vitamin C Serum. Ohhhh…

I started testing this out immediately by adding it to my nightly and daily skin care repertoire. I heard really good things about Ascorbic Acid, one of the ingredients in this serum, is being able to lighten my skin complexion. I just have preference for lighter skin and the Florida sun is brutal during the summer.  It’s suppose to do wonders for skin discoloration as well, but I don’t have that problem, so I can’t give you an answer on that.

However, within close to 3 weeks of using the this serum my skin has become noticeably lighter by a tint. Nothing to drastic, but I think with a bit longer continual use it should produce the results I’m looking for. Besides my new lighter complexion I also noticed my skin feels a lot smoother as well.

I use 3-4 drops every other night, as per instruction. The instructions also say with or without lotion. I always use my same lotion regardless. Anyways I can’t stay and write too long as usual. Mario Badescu Collagen Moisturizer Review December 22, 2008

I use Mario Badescu’s Collagen Moisturizer because it is light yet still able to keep my skin moist and soft. But most importantly I like it because it’s light. My skin gets clogged easily, so I do not want the skin care products I use to do more bad than good. Since I live in Florida this Collagen Moisturizer does double duty because it is SPF 15. Again this is important because I don’t want too much stuff on my skin. All in all this product receives my stamp of approval!

Mario Badescu Anti Acne Serum Review December 17, 2008

Here is another great product from Mario Badescu to help you treat and prevent acne:

I have been using this product for 3 months and so far just like Mario’s other products his reputation for outstanding skin care products does not fall short on this Anti Acne Serum.

My biggest problem is oily skin especially my forehead. I apply it in the morning after my daily face cleansing ritual. Just a thin layer is enough, so control the urge to overdo it. I notice a slight tingling sensation after applying the Anti Acne Serum, but its not irritating enough to complain about. And it did not leave red marks like some other products did. In about 2 weeks my skin was noticeably clearer, not 100% but enough to really make a big difference. Most importantly my oily skin condition is thankfully under control. Now I can be in a picture without my forehead looking like a mirror =)

Overall I am quite happy and satisfied with this product.

Personally I do not have cystic acne. But from the other reviews that I’ve read and from what my mom’s salon customers tell me, it is very good for preventing and treating cystic acne.

The Anti Acne Serum is Salicylic Acid based and is in the form of a gel. So it spreads easily around acne prone facial areas. Salicylic Acid is an all natural plant based ingredient that is very effective in treating and preventing acne. Matter of fact all the ingredients in Mario’s products are natural except for a few ingredients used to preserve shelf life.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Review December 15, 2008

The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is one of the most popular and well known skin care product in their line up. I like to keep a bottle of this in a prominent place on my dressing table where I can easily find it.

What I like about this lotion is that I can just apply a little bit of it with a q-tip on my face, right before I go to bed. I dab my acne and I can feel a slight tingling sensation. Not tingling in an irritating way but a nice soothing way. The soothing feeling comes from the Calamine ingredient which I really like.

When I wake up in the morning I notice that my blemishes are less visible, sort of drying and flaking off. But at least its not red and bumpy looking. My Favorite Skin Care Product Line December 15, 2008

I’d like to start off by saying I am not the type that follows the celebrity band wagon. Okay, maybe just a little bit. I would like to say I prefer to sit on the edge. My mind was changed one day fateful day when I saw Mishca Barton shopping in Mario Badecu’s store in NYC city and I became stoked ever since. I mean damn she has some beautiful skin. And if she trusts her skin to Mario Badescu then I thought I had to at least give it a try.

It’s not just Mishca Barton who uses their skin care products. When you walk inside you can see pictures and photographs of beautiful actresses like Jennifer Aniston, Rachel Bilson,  all the women from Desperate Housewives and the list just goes on. Bear in mind these celebrity clients are not being paid to use their products. They use it because they trust their products to help keep their skin clear and beautiful. Hey I want that too.

But among the celebrities who uses their products I have to say my all time favorite is Alicia Keyes. She has skin to die for. Don’t take my word for it though. Check out Mario Badescu’s website and you can see a whole list of celebrity clients. I really think it says volumes says when a celeb uses products that they are not being paid to endorse.
